前置詞と群前置詞

前置詞は「イメージ」で覚えると応用が効きます。TOEICでは時間・期限・群前置詞が特に頻出です。

時の前置詞

at＋時刻・一点（at 9 a.m., at noon）、on＋日付・曜日（on Monday, on May 1）、in＋月・年・季節・期間（in May, in 2026）。
by：～までに（期限）⇔ until / till：～までずっと（継続）。
for：期間の長さ（for three years）⇔ during：特定の期間の間に（during the meeting）。since：～以来。within：～以内に。in：（今から）～後に（in two weeks）。

場所・手段などの前置詞

at（地点）、in（空間の中）、on（接触）。by＋手段（by train, by email）、by＋差（by 10%）、with＋道具（with a pen）。
by は「差」を表す点が金融・ビジネスで頻出：Sales increased by 15%.（15%増えた）／increased to 15%（15%になった）。

群前置詞（TOEIC頻出）

according to（～によると）、due to / owing to / because of（～のために）、in spite of（～にもかかわらず）、in addition to（～に加えて）、instead of（～の代わりに）、on behalf of（～を代表して）、in terms of（～の点で）、prior to（～より前に）、regardless of（～にかかわらず）、with regard to / regarding（～に関して）、in charge of（～を担当して）、in accordance with（～に従って）、as of（～現在・～付で）。

🎯 TOEIC・英検での出方

Part 5 で毎回のように出ます。by / until、for / during、prior to、in accordance with、on behalf of は特に要注意です。
